A process represents changes to a product that occur during production. The network of all processes and their relations results in possible process plans or process chains.

Totality of initial state Sa, final state Sb, and a transition t from Sa to Sb. The transition itself can be represented as a set of processes. A transition must either be deliberately triggered (Action) or occurs due to conditions that have been reached (Event).
